Complete a short survey to help communities understand the impact of these substances.
You will be supporting your First Nations community as the survey results can help better understand the impacts of opioids and methamphetamines at the local level and help address prevention, treatment options, harm reduction strategies, equity challenges, and crisis management.
The survey can also help address the unique challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has created for First Nations with substance use issues.
Note:
- There is an adult and a youth survey (requires consent for youth under 18)
- Data is not individually analyzed and your answers will remain anonymous
- Data will support a national non-identifiable aggregate report to provide evidence of the needs, impacts and prevalence of substance use on First Nations
- *IF you represent a community or treatment centre a signed work agreement is required and data is returned with a written report (keeping with OCAP principles)

First Nations people who use opioids are often looking for a way to regain a sense of control and power to cope with issues resulting from intergenerational trauma (residential schools) and personal traumatic experiences in their life (family violence, sexual abuse, neglect or racism).
